Voice disorders in childhood are very common and have always been difficult to address. Looking at children's vocal phenomena requires a broad and dynamic perspective. For this reason, we are organizing a comprehensive monograph to gain a deeper understanding of children's dysphonia and to practise speech therapy intervention strategies as much as possible

Objective

Specific objectives

  • To have knowledge of the anatomical-physio-pathological bases of children's voice and its disorders (functional and congenital origin) and how to intervene through voice re-education.
  • Have knowledge about acoustics applied to the exploration and intervention of vocal disorders in children.
  • Have tools for a correct exploration and assessment of vocal disorders in children.
  • Relate the basic elements of vocal technique with the re-education techniques that are commonly used in the field of vocal disorders in children.
  • Have tools to apply body work to vocal work in children, in relation to both spoken and singing voice.
  • Have tools to detect possible vocal pathologies in the music classroom or choir.
  • Learn how children's voices develop and thus be able to adapt the repertoire and vocalizations in a healthy way.
