With the beginning of the 2023-24 academic year, Blanquerna-URL is celebrating its 75th anniversary with two very special events that will take place during this quarter, and with the publication of a Miscellany that will bring together various contributions and testimonies linked to the history of the institution, to be published during the second semester.
[...] Over the years, we have become a benchmark in teaching excellence and in the inseparable dimension of a comprehensive and personalized education. For Blanquerna, teaching is not only the transmission of knowledge from technical learning, it also implies the expression of values of the global education of students, which, as stated in Blanquerna-URL's mission statement, "is understood as a pluralistic university community inspired by the principles of Christian humanism, whose mission is the integral education of people so that they become competent, ethical professionals committed to social transformation, creating knowledge at the service of justice and the common good". President of Blanquerna-URL
The composer Bernat Vivancos describes the creative process in this wonderful text. Among other interesting aspects, he explains, by way of introduction, that "Musically, the text was very seductive to me, and I immediately wanted to illustrate in music the idea of this great "Canticle of canticles" that is the "Book of the Friend and Beloved", in which the friend (Blanquerna) dialogues, flirts, falls in love, etc. with the beloved (God)."
Our history is our essence. Blanquerna was born in the spirit of training teachers committed to the integral education of the human being, at a time when innovative proposals committed to social transformation were needed. This is why, even today, Blanquerna offers a comprehensive quality education that goes beyond academics, with a unique and personalized methodology.

Since our beginnings, at Blanquerna-URL we have been working to achieve a global education based on the principles of humanism. We are committed to high-quality training, in which knowledge, education and values go hand in hand and make the difference.
