Our history is our essence. Blanquerna was born in the spirit of training teachers committed to the integral education of the human being, at a time when innovative proposals committed to social transformation were needed. 1971
It takes its name from Blanquerna, Ramon Llull's pedagogical work.
1990
Inauguration of the building at c. Císter, 34, new site of the University School for Teachers and their Continuing Education.
1991
Unanimous approval by the Parliament of Catalonia of Ramon Llull University, of which the Blanquerna Foundation is a founding member, with the University School for Teachers and the new School of Psychology and Pedagogy at c. Císter, 34. The degrees of Psychology and Pedagogy started being imparted.
1992
Creation of the University School of Nursing and Physiotherapy at c. Santaló, 37. The diplomas in Nursing and Physiotherapy started being imparted.
1994
Creation of the School of Communication Sciences at c. Valldonzella, 21. The degrees in Journalism, Audio-visual Communication, and Advertising and Public Relations started being imparted.
1995
The University School for Teachers and the School of Psychology and Pedagogy merge into the new School of Psychology and Education, at c. Císter. Creation of the Ramon Llull Blanquerna Chair.
1996
Inauguration of the building at c. Valldonzella, 23, new site of the School of Communication Sciences.
1997
Inauguration of the Tamarita Tower on pg. de Sant Gervasi, site of the Blanquerna Foundation and the Ramon Llull Chair.
2000
Inauguration of the building at c. Padilla, new site of the School of Nursing and Physiotherapy.
2001
The degree in Exercise and Sport Sciences started being imparted, and name change of the School of Psychology, Education and Sport Sciences.
2002
The diploma in Human Nutrition and Dietetics started being imparted, and name change of the School of Nursing, Physiotherapy and Nutrition.
2008
The bachelor degrees in Journalism, Film and TV, and Advertising and Public Relations started being imparted.
2009
The School of Nursing, Physiotherapy and Nutrition becomes the School of Health Sciences. The bachelor degrees in Nursing, Physiotherapy, Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Psychology, Exercise and Sport Sciences, Early childhood Education and Primary Education started being imparted.
2010
Inauguration of the building at c. Valldonzella, 23, new library of the School of Communication Sciences.
2011
Bachelor degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
2012
The bachelor degree in International Relations started being imparted at the School of Communications.
2014
The School of Communications changed its name to the School of Communications and International Relations. The bachelor degree in Pharmacy started being imparted at the School of Health Sciences and the IQS.
2017
The bachelor degree in Sports management started being imparted at the School of Psychology, Education and Sport Sciences.
2018
The bachelor degree in Global Communication Management started being imparted at the School of Communication and International Relations.
2019
Blanquerna's 70th anniversary and celebration of the first joint graduation ceremony. Inauguration of the new site of the Research Institute of the School of Communications and International Relations at c. Tallers 77, Barcelona.
2020
The double bachelor degree in Journalism and Corporate Communications and International Relations started being imparted at the School of Communications and International Relations, and the Double Degree in Psychology and Landuage and Speech Therapy started being imparted at the School of Psychology, Education and Sport Sciences.
2021
The Bachelor degree in Digital Media started being imparted at the School of Communication and International Relations.
2022
