To be a student at our university is to know Barcelona, a welcoming city of culture that looks to the future. Your future awaits you in Blanquerna. Find out about it.
Studying at Blanquerna means learning through a unique, innovative style of education, the aim of which is to train competent professionals committed to society and to contribute to its progress.
Studying in Blanquerna means having the opportunity to study on a cosmopolitan urban campus in the heart of Barcelona, an international benchmark in the field of research and one of the best cities in the world to live and work.
See the specific admission for each degree. The steps are generally as follows:
Students from education systems within the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), or those with which the Spanish State has an agreement, or international high school diploma holders must apply to the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED) to obtain the credential certifying that they meet the requirements to access university studies within the state education system. In other words, a high school diploma equivalency certificate. Although they do not have to sit the University Entrance Exams, without this credential they will not be able to enroll in our bachelor degrees.
These countries are: Germany, Andorra, Austria, European Schools (European Baccalaureate), International Baccalaureate, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark, Slovakia, Slovenia, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Romania, Sweden, Switzerland, China and Cyprus.
Students from other countries outside the EHEA that do not have an agreement with the Spanish State will be able to enroll by presenting the convalidation of their High School diploma by the Spanish Ministry of Education or the duly authorized Autonomous Communities.
Students can enroll merely by proving they have applied for this convalidation. Therefore, the two procedures are conducted at the same time. However, enrollment is subject to final convalidation, which may take more than three months. The resolution of the convalidation must be made under the terms requested by the person concerned. Otherwise, the results of the exams taken or of the enrollment will not be valid.

We want you to discover the Blanquerna experience. We therefore provide different activities and sessions where you can find out more about the campus, our facilities, talk to the faculty, and discover your vocation.
Blanquerna offers in-person language courses for our students. Catalan courses are free. You can find more information in the Life-long learning web section.
You can also find other courses and resources online at Intercat, Parla.cat, 4cats, Viure a Catalunya. Aprenem català des de l'espanyol or SpeakCat.
Each bachelor degree has its own singularities. Check out the number of possible study visits, the total number of hours, and the agreements for each of the studies.
All of our bachelor degrees are official. You will therefore be able to practice in your home country. However, each bachelor degree varies depending on the country and its regulations. That is why we offer international mobility programs and complementary studies, such as master degrees.
All of our bachelor degree and master degree studies begin during the second week of September. To allow for the dates and deadlines for enrollment and pre-enrollment.
The courses run until May/June, and are divided into two semesters with two exam periods.
When teaching the courses, Blanquerna favors Catalan because of the culture and context of the region. However, we try to adapt to all our students: particularly during the first year, professors can adapt the courses. Therefore, international students will have time to get used to Catalan before taking courses in this language. What is more, the exams and course work can be completed in Catalan, Spanish and English.
Our university also offers bachelor degrees that are entirely in Spanish or English. Find out which ones are available.
At Blanquerna, we can provide advice on the admission processes and documentation required in these procedures. Do not hesitate to contact us.
