There is a high rate of sedentary lifestyles among people suffering from illnesses, particularly chronic diseases, and these lifestyles increase complications and contribute to the deterioration of the disease. Exercise is a fundamental and effective therapeutic tool in tackling these types of diseases.

Knowing the basic principles, determining the degree of affectation and being able to establish therapeutic strategies to be implemented has become a key element in the work of the physiotherapist.
