Oncology massage for physiotherapists course.
Oncology massage is a manual therapy focusing on soft tissue. It consists of adapting massage therapies to treat the sequelae and complications that cancer patients may suffer.
The course aims to bring oncological massage to the physiotherapist as a technique for the treatment of sequelae that appear throughout the oncological process such as pain, fatigue and nausea.
Objectives
Learn about the interventions that a physiotherapist can perform in a patient with cancer.
Learn specific physiotherapy treatments for cancer patients.
Understand the foundations of oncological massage, its effects and efficacy.
Identify indications and contraindications of physiotherapy treatments in cancer patients.
Learn the different oncological massage sequences, when to apply each one and at what stage.
Recognize the main indications and contraindications of oncological massage. Learn to adapt and individualize the treatment according to the specific characteristics of each type of cancer, the therapeutic stage and the individual aspects of each patient.

Physiotherapy graduates and 4th-year undergraduate students.

Certificate of attendance
Course participants will receive a certificate of attendance. Attendance to 80% or more of the sessions is required to obtain it.
Libraries
If you need a quiet space to study or to do individual and group work, come to the library! Each school has its own library with computers, workrooms, reading points and an extensive catalog of documents you can consult in both hard copy and digital format.
Computer rooms
If you have a job or just need a computer, you can go to the computer classrooms or workspaces and use the Macs we have at your disposal.
Chapel
The chapel is the right place to find recollection, peace, to focus, to pray and to celebrate the Eucharist weekly and at important liturgical moments (Christmas, Ash Wednesday and Easter). The sacrament of reconciliation is also celebrated.

Coordinator of Oncological Physiotherapy Programs at the Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer (Tenerife). Trained in Oncology Massage by the Australian, Canadian and American international schools.
Yolanda Robledo, PhD. Physiotherapist with expertise in oncology massage, manual lymphatic drainage and oncology patients. Henares University Hospital, Physiotherapy and Pain Research Center, professor at the European University of Madrid. Vice President of SEMOS (Spanish Society of Oncology Massage). Member of the board of directors of AMAL (Madrid Association of People Affected by Lymphedema). Member of the CPFCM's Committee on Oncological Physiotherapy and Palliative Care.
