Blanquerna School of Communication and International Relations organizes Women and Research Meetings
The Associate Dean for Research has created a monthly meeting to share research among women, juniors and seniors, from the School.
Starting this year, the School of Communication will organize a series of meetings where women researchers from the School of Communication will discuss with the Associate Dean for Research, research, criteria, indicators, academic career, scholarships, subsidies, bibliography, reference centers, awards, as well as their own careers and research.
The aim of this initiative is to advance the contributions and voice of women in research, lend greater visibility, address concerns, and create spaces for sharing and learning together to ensure that research is no longer an individual and lonely experience, but a fruitful, productive, and stimulating adventure.
The initiative responds to the request of the manifesto Insight into the gender gap within the context of a health pandemic: reflections for a critical debate, from the Commission for Women and Science of the Interuniversity Council of Catalonia (CIC), adhered to the Department of Research and Universities, where it appeals to the responsibility of universities and research centers to provide a space for non-discriminatory social transformation that questions why, within the Catalan knowledge system, women researchers are still under-represented: of the 30,159 science researchers in Catalonia in 2020, only 11,696 (38.8%) were women.
The 2022 sessions are as follows:
- Monday, October 3, 4pm to 5pm, Workshops, R1
- Monday 7 November 4pm to 5pm Workshops, R1
- Monday 5 December 4pm to 5pm Workshops, R1
No need to confirm assistance. The session will be held with a minimum of two researchers.
