Eleven students and one Alumni of our School will participate in the second edition of the project «Xarxa Comunica i Emprèn», directed at the sector of journalism and advertising.

The Televisió de Catalunya programme «Club Súper 3», for which professor of the School Joan Tharrats is a screenwriter, and the online newspaper Nació Digital, led by Karma Peiró, also a professor at the School, have won the Premis Nacionals of Comunicació 2016 in the categories of television and native digital media, respectively.

A delegation of the School participated in a four day "Summit on Global Politics, Sports, and Civic Engagement", held in Boston, the second annual summit organized between the two centers.

The second edition of Audiovisual University-Industry Pitching has selected, from among a total of 17, two projects by students of Audiovisual Communication under the framework of Final Degree Project.

At the beginning of October, the Old Factory Damm held the event «NetCom 2016», a traditional meeting of the directors of Catalan communication. Representing the School were professors Antoni Solanilla, Josep Rom, Jordi Botey and Josep Maria Picola, in addition to professor Kathy Matilla, a member of the governing board of Dircom Catalonia, the entity organizer.

With a ceremony at the Llotja de Mar, Universitat Ramon Llull celebrated its 25th anniversary as the first private, social initiative and non-profit university in Spain. The event, which coincided with the opening of the academic year 2016-2017, was attended by over 400 guests, among whom were members of the university community URL and representatives of educational, cultural and political fields.

This BTV program offers a platform to young creators, which airs, every month, the pilot of a series of fiction or nonfiction media created by students in Catalan universities.

Tatiana Londoño and Daniel Gómez Restrepo, former students of the Master’s Degree in Film and Television Fiction. Production, Screenwriting and Filming, have won the Stories Regional Fund for Film Development in Colombia, in the «fiction short film» category.

The School’s dean, Dr. Josep Maria Carbonell, and Dr. Jaume Suau, professor of the School, have visited Tel Aviv in order to organize a conference under the project MedMedia, in which the School is involved.

The beginning of the new academic year has given way to the reception of the exchange students, who are from the United States, Venezuela, South Korea, The Netherlands, and Belgium, among other countries. They will spend the next semester in the School thanks to the Erasmus+ studies program, funded by the European Union.
