New project of Obs Blanquerna on disinformation and COVID-19 vaccine in Catholic media funded by Google
The Blanquerna Observatory is a member of the consortium of the project "Vaccine and prejudices in the Catholic Community", led by Aleteia.org and three of the 11 proposals selected from a total of 309 submitted to the call, which will receive funding from the Google News Initiative.
The initiative aims to fight misinformation about the COVID-19 vaccine, specifically in the Catholic media. Verificat, the data verification platform and headers such as Catalunya Religió or Religión Digital, among others from around the world, are also among the members of the consortium. The Obs will be in charge of developing two reports that will analyze the information available on vaccination to this media.
The project has the participation of a committee of experts from around the world, including Dr. Concepció Mestres, dean of the Blanquerna School of Health Science and Dr. Francesc Torralba, director of the Ethos Chair at the Ramon Llull University. It will be developed within the framework of the STReaM research group (Society, Technology, Religion and Media).
