Blanquerna FCRI is taking part in the general strike
The General Management of Blanquerna-URL, in agreement with the company committees, has decided to suspend all classes and activities on Tuesday, October 3.
In a statement addressed to the teaching staff, administrative staff and students, the Dean of the School, Dr. Josep Maria Carbonell has communicated that the Blanquerna School of Communication and International Relations will join the initiative of a general strike in protest against the events that occurred this past Sunday, which have no place in a rule of law.
On Monday midday, a good representation of our School massively adhered to this initiative: "Yesterday all the red lines were crossed," said the dean before a concentration of students and staff that took place in the central building of the Plaça Joan Coromines.
"The performance of state security forces and bodies was absolutely disproportionate and unprecedented in a Western democracy."
In continuation, along with the management team, and in protest, five minutes silence were respected " so that it will not happen again. For this reason, on October 3, our facilities will be closed throughout the day. Normal activity will resume on Wednesday.
