Announcement about monitoring COVID-19 at Blanquerna-URL
13.30h - Blanquerna-URL is monitoring the evolution of COVID-19.
Dear Members of the University Community,
As you know, Blanquerna-URL is monitoring the evolution of COVID-19 (or coronavirus) in order to take the necessary measures according to the instructions of the health authorities. For the moment, the situation in Blanquerna is that of complete normality, but given the spread of the virus, this situation can change at any time.
The Board of Directors of Blanquerna-URL, together with the Monitoring Committee of COVID-19, has drawn up a Protocol of Action for the various scenarios that may occur in the future, which will be continually updated based on the evolution of events and the instructions of the health authorities.
This protocol foresees that in no case will there be an interruption in teaching activity: either face-to-face, while the schools are open; or virtually and respecting scheduled class times in case of suspension of face-to-face classes. This protocol can be found both on the web and in Scala, and we will keep you updated through the official Blanquerna-URL channels about breaking events or changes as they take place. In the event of a significant change of scenario, you will receive an announcement to that effect.
We recommend that members of the Blanquerna Community follow the instructions of the Public Health Agency and keep abreast of updated information by consulting these links:
Regarding Catalonia and Spain:
Regarding Europe and the rest of the world:
- Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
- European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control
- World Health Organization and its orientations for the public
If any member of the Blanquerna-URL Community has symptoms such as general malaise, cough, fever or the sensation of not being able to breathe, you must stay home and call 061-Salut Respon, informing them if you have traveled to areas of risk or been in contact with people diagnosed with COVID-19.
You can see more information about how this disease is transmitted and how to prevent it from spreading in this video by the Public Health Agency of Catalonia.
Finally, from Blanquerna, we want to convey a message of peace of mind with regard to the health alert about the outbreak of the epidemic of COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2). In this sense, we are following the instructions, recommendations and measures indicated by the administrations, both by the Health Department of the Generalitat of Catalonia and the Public Health Agency of Catalonia and by the Ministry of Health of the Government of Spain. Communication with these institutions is on-going and constant, as it is with the Rector of Ramon Llull University.
