Alumni Maria Martiáñez i Vendrell wins the prize for the best bachelor's thesis from SEPAR
The alumni of the bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy has won the Spanish Society for Pulmonolgy and Thoracic Surgery (Sociedad Española de Neumología y Cirugía Torácica in Spanish, SEPAR) award for the best bachelor's thesis on pathology and/or cures of the respiratory apparatus.
Maria Martiáñez i Vendrell, who graduated from the bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy last academic year 2021/2022, has won the SEPAR Prize for her TFG (bachelor's thesis, Treball Final de Grau in Catalan) titled "Efficiency and safety of the mechanical insuflager-exsuflager with a pressure differential optimized for draining secretions in critical patients with invasive mechanical ventilation. Research protocol."
She published her TFG in the scientific journal Actualitzacions en Fisioteràpia, No. XX of December 2022 of the College of Physiotherapists of Catalonia.
In basketball, Maria Martiñez i Vendrell has been an European Champion with the Spanish team, among other successes with the senior Catalan national team. A fellow of Oral Roberts University, she has played in the top university league of the United States for three years; and a year in the women's league 1 (professional Spanish league) with the club Maquinaria Ensino, in Lugo.
For her outstanding sports career, she received the Special Mention 2023 award from the Catalan Basketball Federation.
