Why choose this master's degree?

Faculty

The master's degree has faculty members of recognized prestige and extensive experience in different areas in order to offer a multifaceted vision for comprehensive knowledge of the problem of sexual violence against women. From the feminist analytical paradigm, the necessary theoretical framework will be provided to understand and address this reality.

Methodology and interdisciplinary approach

The master's program emphasizes network collaboration among various stakeholders involved in the prevention, detection, and intervention of sexual violence against women. This approach aims to ensure a coordinated, effective, and comprehensive response from all sectors involved. From this community perspective, interdisciplinary knowledge will be promoted, providing a well-rounded and strategic approach to addressing sexual violence.

Supervised professionalization

During the second year of the master's degree, through internships and the final master's thesis, students are guaranteed direct contact with professional environments that address sexual violence within their respective fields (educational, healthcare, social, and legal sectors). This ensures that theoretical training is complemented with supervised professional practice.

Master in lifelong learning in prevention, detection, and intervention in sexual violence from an inter-disciplinary perspective

This master's degree from Ramon Llull University, in collaboration with the International Academic Network for the Study of Prostitution and Pornography (RAIEPP) and the La Sur Association, was created to address the alarming issue of sexual violence against women from a global and interdisciplinary perspective.

Sensitive to gender perspectives, the master's degree is rooted in the structural analysis of inequality between men and women, aiming to examine sexual violence against women that is legitimized through certain socially and institutionally accepted practices. The master's degree also has a clear professional focus, including curricular internships, as well as training and supervision in research.

This master's degree offers a three-pronged approach aimed at professionals in the fields of education - prevention and detection of sexual violence -, care - diagnosis and intervention - and law - regulation and protection - to provide key professional sectors with the theoretical framework, strategies, tools and resources necessary to understand and act against this multifaceted issue from an interdisciplinary perspective.

Who is it for?

The master's degree is particularly aimed at professionals in the educational, social, healthcare, and legal sectors, addressing their specific training needs in preventing and responding to sexual violence. Its goal is to promote coordinated actions among the various stakeholders involved, ensuring a comprehensive approach to the problem.

Stages of the admission process

The admission process for the school's own degree studies is developed in 3 stages:

  1. Pre-enrollment
  2. Admission
  3. Enrollment

Pre-enrollment

Students can pre-enroll online (by accessing Pre-enrollment | Blanquerna or the pre-enrollment option for each course) and also in person at the school.

For online pre-enrollment, you will need to:

  1. Sign up on the unique registration system and create a username (if not previously obtained) and follow the instructions to completion.
  2. Make a payment of €50 (non-refundable fee for pre-enrollment rights and processing) can be made by credit or debit card, through a secure and confidential BBVA process.
  3. Upload the required documentation through the document repository.
  • ID card (both sides) / Passport
  • Curriculum vitae
  • For foreign (non EU) applicants: a certificate issued by the competent authority (University, Embassy, Consulate) attesting that the access studies qualify for admission in the home country.

Admission

Once pre-enrollment has been completed, the candidate will be offered a date for an interview with the degree coordinator, who will assess their suitability and solve any doubts they may have about the course for which they are enrolling. Once the assessment is complete, the student will be informed of the result of the interview and how to enroll, if admitted.

Prior to enrollment, the person concerned must upload the qualifications or the receipt of the university studies completed to the document repository. If these documents are not available, the course may be taken but the qualifications will not be received and, instead, a university extension certificate or diploma will be obtained.

Enrollment

Once the above documentation has been assessed, and when there is a large enough group of pre-enrolled students, each candidate will receive the confirmation and information necessary to enroll. Enrollment implies obtaining a definitive place and will take effect within the deadlines indicated in the confirmation e-mail.

When students enroll, they will have two business days to pay the total cost of enrollment, by bank transfer, credit card or barcode. Studies can be paid in installments, without any interest, by bank transfer (Instructions to send the signed SEPA Document to Blanquerna)

Prices may be updated each academic year. Once enrollment has been formalized, the amount paid will not be refunded under any circumstances. Pre-enrollment and enrollment may remain open up to 15 days before the start of the course, provided places are available.

When a student enrolls, a contract for the provision of teaching services is formalized between the student and the Blanquerna Foundation, which is legally binding from the time of payment. Payment includes the corresponding insurance and, for students under the age of twenty-eight, compulsory academic insurance. If a student declines to take up a place, he/she will lose in full any amount he/she has paid.

The student accepts the rules for the use of computer services established by the Blanquerna Foundation. The student's personal data will be included in an automated file under the responsibility of the Blanquerna Foundation, so that this contract can be maintained and fulfilled. Students should note that their data may also be used to inform them about the future activities of the Foundation, or for the institution to send them publications.

In accordance with the provisions of Organic Law 15/1999 on the protection of personal data, students have the right to access their data to update, rectify or cancel them, or object to their use, by sending a letter, indicating which right they want to exercise.

This section is a summary of the general conditions for enrollment. It is only for guidance and therefore has no contractual value. In the event of any discrepancy, the provisions of the general conditions for enrollment specified in the receipt generated at the time of enrollment will prevail; this receipt formalizes the contract between the student and the Blanquerna Foundation; students can consult it on the intranet whenever they wish.

The School cannot guarantee that a course will be available if the requirement for a minimum number of enrollments is not met. In this case, the amount paid for enrollment and pre-enrollment will be refunded in full.

Foreign students

Applicants who have completed access studies outside Spain must obtain a certificate issued by the relevant body (university, embassy, consulate) confirming that the studies qualify the student in the country of issue to take the master degree or graduate studies.

Students are responsible for having all the official documentation necessary for their stay in Spain while studying at the School. Applicants can ask for a pre-acceptance document attached to the pre-enrollment receipt to initiate applications for visas or scholarships or carry out any other administrative procedure. Under no circumstances does this document guarantee a place if all the access and admission requirements are not met. Once applicants have been accepted and enrollment is complete, they can request a letter of admission from the Academic Secretary, if required, by paying the corresponding fees.

Master's Degree Thesis

Acquire the necessary skills to conduct methodologically rigorous research in the field of sexual violence and contribute to scientific knowledge from a theoretical or practical perspective.

Each student will select a relevant and current topic of interest within the field of
sexual violence, which they will analyze from either a theoretical or practical standpoint. The master's thesis
may be connected to the internship center or independent, and can be approached using any
type of study—quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods. It can take the form of a
research project, a systematic review, an intervention project, a case study, a program
evaluation, or an essay...

The master's degree thesis will be carried out under the supervision of an advisor who will guide the student throughout the research process. This will also be supported by coursework in specific subjects on research methodology offered throughout the program.

Follow-up by the advisor will be carried out through prearranged submissions and interviews initiated by the student.

The assessment will be based on the grade of the advisor and a defense of the thesis before an assessment committee.

Scholarships and grants Blanquerna

In the second year, internships will be carried out in centers specialized in sexual violence. The internships will be supervised by an advisor from the school and a mentor from the center and assessed jointly.
The centers proposed by each student will be rigorously evaluated to ensure their suitability for inclusion in the master's degree list of internship centers.
