Visits to the International Relations seminars
Last May 3, the seminars of the bachelor's degree in International Relations received visits from different human rights advocates.
The seminar on LATAM and the Caribbean (3rd) by Professor Andrea Costafreda welcomed: Ms. Yenidia Cuéllar, peasant community feminist leader and environmental advocate in Colombia; Mr. Óscar Echeverri, signatory of the Colombian peace agreement and representative of the CEPRODET manufacturing initiative; Ms. Ariane Araujo of Brazil, a lawyer and activist in the human rights sector of the MST.
GLOBALCODES and the Africa Seminar coordinated by Professor Òscar Mateos hosted the conference of the journalist and activist from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Sylvie Luzala, who will remain in Barcelona for six months, accompanied by the Catalan Association for Peace, through the Catalan Program for the Protection of Human Rights Advocates.
Sylvie Luzala explained the work of Étoile du Sud (EDS), a Congolese organization that works to guarantee the right to health, women's rights and building peace among the country's population, especially in the areas of Kinshasa, the capital.
