Professor Rafael de Ribot, new president of the Fundació Consell de la Informació de Catalunya (CIC)

The professor of the degree in Journalism and Corporate Communication, Rafael de Ribot, was appointed president of the Fundació Consell de la Informació de Catalunya (CIC) on February 9 at the extraordinary session of its Board of Trustees. Ribot has been appointed president of the entity in replacement of Roger Jiménez, who had held the position since 2013.

As a journalist, he directed COM Ràdio, also directed and presented the news program Catalunya Nit de Catalunya Ràdio (1995-1998) and was editor-in-chief of news programmes at TV3 (1998 -2002). Nowadays, he collaborates with different news media outlets.

The Consell de la Informació de Catalunya was created in 1997 by the College of Journalists and constituted as a Foundation in 1999. It is a non-profit entity, in charge of ensuring compliance with the principles and criteria of professional ethics of journalism contained in the Code of Ethics.
