New GLOBALCODES project: “Climate change and securitisation in the Sahel. Emerging insecuritisation frameworks from the ecological security approach”.
The GLOBALCODES research group has obtained one of the grants of the call for research for peace 2023 of the International Catalan Institute for Peace (ICIP).
The project, entitled “Climate change and securitisation in the Sahel. Emerging insecuritisation frameworks from the ecological security approach”, has been presented by professors Òscar Mateos (Lead Researcher) and Andrea Daza and PhD student Javier Renteria.
The goal of the project is to conduct an analysis of the processes of European securitisation and militarisation in the Sahel, with the objective of offering a diagnosis and proposals for local and global public and community strategies from an ecological and human security standpoint.
Furthermore, Dr. Ana Isabel Rodriguez, Javier Renteria and professors from the School and GLOBALCODES researchers Òscar Mateos and Valeria Bello took part in the 16th Pan-European Conference on International Relations, which was held between 5 and 9 September 2023 at the University of Potsdam.
