"A Muslim, a Christian and a Jew" talk about human fraternity

February 21, 2024

The Blanquerna Observatory of Communication, Religion and Culture travels to Porto, Portugal, to attend the conference “Um muçulmano, um cristão e um judeu entram numa porta”, on interreligious dialogue in Portugal.

The activity, coordinated jointly by the Observatory and the association MEERU ! Abrir Caminho, and with the backing of the Network for Dialogue of the KAICIID, visited various places of worship in Porto, and at the end there was a round table of religious leaders at the "Door" of the Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Perpétuo Socorro.

Coinciding, on the one hand, with the International Day of Human Fraternity and, on the other hand —in contrast to a weekend marked by anti-Islamic mobilizations in Lisbon— the conference highlighted that "we must focus on knowing the richness of the identities, religions and traditions of others in order not to focus on ignorance and conflict".
