Gaudí Awards 2023: The memory of Agustí Villaronga and the great success of "Alcarràs"
The heartfelt farewell of our Vice-Dean of Business and President of the Academy of Catalan Cinema, Dr. Judith Colell, to the Mallorcan filmmaker, Agustí Villaronga, was one of the most memorable moments of a gala also marked by the overwhelming success of Alcarràs, a film produced by the teachers of the Blanquerna Master's Degree in Audio-visual Executive Production -PROA. of our School, Tono Folguera and Ariadna Dot, which, among five awards, won the award for best director.
This celebration also honored alumni Raül Fernández (Refree), who received a Gaudí Award for best original music for "Un año, una noche" (Journalism, 1998).
For yet another year, our student volunteers from the Bachelor's Degree in Audio-visual Communication and the Master's Degree in Protocol collaborated in the production of the gala. The Blanquerna School of Communication and International Relations was not only present with the award winners and volunteers. The red carpet, prior to the gala, was hosted by alumni Elisenda Carod (Audio-visual Communication, 2003 and Alumni Ambassador) and Patrick Urbano (Journalism, 2014), presenter of "Tot són problemes" on TV3.
