Congratulations graduates!
Last Saturday, June 10, the graduation ceremony for the 2019-2023 class took place in the Basilica of Santa Maria del Mar, introduced by Cristina Puig, professor of the Bachelor Degree in Journalism and Corporate Communication, and by Albert Castillo, a student who had already completed the degree. The ceremony followed the theme of Blanquerna Airlines, which was chosen and developed by the Graduation Committee, composed mainly of students from the School of Communication and International Relations.
The General Director of Blanquerna, Dr Giorgia Miotto, inaugurated the graduation ceremony, and the Dean of the School of Communication and International Relations, Dr Josep Lluís Micó, then addressed the assembly. The Rector of Ramon Llull University, Dr Josep Rom, brought the event to a close with a very encouraging speech to the students.
The ceremony included appearances by Pilar Baradat, director of the promotion video and the student who won the extraordinary award for the Bachelor Degree in Audio-visual Communications, and Ethan López, a student from the Bachelor Degree in Journalism and Corporate Communication, who featured in the video made to open the event, bringing a touch of humor to the start of proceedings.
Performances were given by Kelly Isaiah, singer, composer and winner of La Voz 2020, and Miriam Melenchon, a student from the Bachelor Degree in Journalism and Corporate Communication. The audience heard heartfelt graduation speeches from students Izaskun Pinson, Josep Cabedo, Pilar Baradat, Claudia Ibabe, Aksel Eck Kjaerstad, Ana Pascual and Margarette Duprey.
Finally, we must congratulate the winners of the extraordinary award for the best academic record: Neo Galceran, Gerard Guerrero, Pilar Baradat, Aksel Eck Kjaerstad and Viviana Girard.
Well done, graduates! Your time at the University is now over, although you will always continue to be part of the Blanquerna community as alumni. The School of Communication and International Relations is your home and we are delighted to see another generation of Blanquerna graduates in the different degrees we offer. Soon we will be sharing the photos and video of the event.
If you are starting your fourth year next year, would you like to be part of the Graduation Committee, who decide the theme for the ceremony and put forward ideas for organizing it? Fill in this form, we'd love to hear from you!
