Valérie Delpierre, award for Best Communicator of the Year

By popular vote of the entire university community (students, faculty and administration and services staff), the School of Communication and International Relations Blanquerna-URL has recognized the work of the film producer Valérie Delpierre as the best communicator of the year. The award, which will be presented this Tuesday at the closing ceremony of the XXVII Blanquerna Communication Conference, recognizes Delpierre's work as a fundamental piece in the construction of the country's audiovisual heritage.

After a long professional career, in 2016 Delpierre founded her own production company Inicia Films, with the objective, successfully achieved, of developing international co-productions and discovering new talents. The films produced by Inicia Films have been selected and awarded at numerous festivals, including the Best First Film Award at the Berlinale 2017 for Estiu 1993 by Carla Simón, with which he also won 3 Goya Awards and 5 Gaudí Awards, or the 4 Goya de Las Niñas awards by Pilar Palomero, including the best Spanish film of the year. In her next projects are La maternal, the new film by Pilar Palomero, and Cantando en las azoteas, by Enric Ribes.

From Inicia Films, Delpierre is dedicated to the production of documentaries, short films and fiction feature films. She has produced documentaries with European companies that have the support of the Spanish Radio and Television Corporation (RTVE), the Catalan Audiovisual Media Corporation (TV3) or the Franco-German public service television channel, ARTE. Delpierre is coordinator of the Financing module and professor of the Master in Executive Audiovisual Production. Blanquerna-PROA and, recently, she has assumed the presidency of the Association of Fiction Producers, ProFicció.
