Don't know what to read this summer?
Get ready to enjoy the summer with the books recommended by the faculty and some of the services of the Blanquerna-URL School of Psychology, Education and Sport Sciences.
Petem-ho is the recommendation of the Language Service - Self-Learning Classroom, an original Catalan handbook so boomers and millennials don't end up embarrassing themselves!
The Library has designed a tailor-made collection for each speciality taught in the School: Lectures que fan lectors (Readings by readers: the literary education of children and young people), for teachers, Cómo hacer que te pasen cosas buenas (How to make good things happen to you), for future psychologists, and Historias irrepetibles del deporte (Once-in-a-lifetime stories of sport), for sports lovers.
English teacher Will Bromberg recommends Lost children archive, a novel inspired by the US policy of separating children from their parents at the US-Mexico border.
Can we live in an open and democratic digital society that is safe for everyone? This is the question posed by the work proposed by Professor Miquel Àngel Prats: La democràcia mor al núvol (Democracy Dies in the Cloud).
El hombre que amaba a los perros (The Man Who Loved Dogs) is the choice of Julieta Piastro, a professor of contemporary thought, in a fascinating psychological historical novel that gives us an insight into the process of a man who, with the help of his mother, becomes a criminal.
Professor Imma Pallarès offers us what is, in her opinion, Marta Orriols' best work: La possibilitat de dir-ne casa (The possibility of calling it home). We will be able to experience her doubts, uncertainties, contradictions, rootedness and uprootedness.
The book chosen by Professor Anna Pagès is La fragilitat del món (The Fragility of the World), in which the author raises the big questions that we must ask, for example, how can we stop and see the world in a different, more vivid way?
Indulge yourself with these perfect readings to accompany your days of relaxation!
