BarcelonActua and Blanquerna-URL explore new avenues of collaboration
Since June, refugees from Ukraine have been receiving Spanish lessons from some members of the faculty and admin personnel.
This week, the Dean of the School, Dr. Jordi Riera, and head of the 2030 Office of the FPCEE, Josep Sánchez, met with Laia Serrano, founder and general manager of the BarcelonActua Foundation, to explore new ways to expand the collaboration between the two organizations.
A framework agreement will soon be signed with the Foundation regarding the collaboration of both entities with other initiatives in the areas of volunteering, service-learning, internships, theses, and research, among others.
Since June, the Blanquerna-URL School of Psychology, Education and Sport Science and the BarcelonActua Foundation have been collaborating in an initiative to help Ukrainian refugees: six students receive Spanish lessons from some members of the faculty and admin personnel. These classes last an hour and a half per session and are repeated twice a week.
We hope to be able to participate in more initiatives that can continue to impact the lives of people in vulnerable situations.
